Settling down for naps/sleeps

Mami found a good website for advices on how to settle me down to sleep.

It works quite well for today for both trials.

I was simply drinking too often milk (like every 1 hour or 1.5 hours during day time and every 3 or 4 hours during night time) and Mami suspected that I am not actually hungry all the time but indeed sleepy and want to be nursed to fall asleep.

Mami is happy that she seems to be on the right track in solving this problem.

Bottle from Mami (媽媽給奶瓶 - 成功篇)

After the incident of drinking loud in the public, Mami decided that she shall bring a bottle next time when we go out. However, she forgot that I don't like to take a bottle from her.

She tried on Sunday evening to give me a bottle at home, I refused it and she gave the bottle to Papi and I refused it too(though usually I take it from him). You know what... I know Mami is there, I will not take an artificial nipple when there is a better one underneath her T-shirt.

Papi said to Mami, "Your plan of bring a bottle for outings seems not working if Alyssa is not taking a bottle from you".

After some advices from Auntie Wendy and some readings from the Internet. Mami gave it a try this morning with new tricks.

She brought me into a room where she has never nursed me before and she held me in a different way (not in the cradle way, but both of us facing the same direction and I was facing away from her). With some tries, cries, soothings, tries and cries. BINGO !!!!! I finished that bottle. Mami said I am a good girl.

Loud drinker

To be honest to you, I am a loud drinker. I not only gulp (with loud noises), but also scream/cry during the nursing.

Mami checked out the Internet and believed that she has the so-called 'active let-down'. In simple term, the milk is ejecting so fast to me that makes me feel not comfortable and sometimes choke me as well.

Today Mami and Papi took me out shopping (mainly for my stuffs). As usual, Mami nursed me immediately before we went out and usually I can sleep for a good 2-3 hours when I am on the way (no matter in sling, stroller or on a car). However, I feel so hungry today that I woke up about 30mins after we left home and Mami has to nurse me in the baby shop. (Luckily there is a comparatively quiet corner to do so)

Mami is still not so comfortable to nurse in public, especially when I am such a loud drinker who attracts so much attention. She is thinking about bringing a bottle next time.

換片與O嘴魚 (nappy changing and cutie fishes)

我的換片墊上有六尾魚，有了它們後，我換片時會有耐性一點。
你看我看得多留神! 我還會和魚兒談天呢。

媽媽很好奇從我的角度看到的魚兒的模樣。她拍了上方的照片後，也覺得我的魚兒朋友確實很有趣。 (尤其是O哂嘴果D)

Baby Sling - magic spell (神奇的揹帶)

We have received this nice present from Auntie Selene. It is a pouch sling. Whenever Mami put me in it, I sleep like an angel (no cry, no fussiness), but Mami doesn't want to put me too often in it as I will simply sleep too much during the day and refuse to sleep at night.
The sling is a bit tight for Papi. Mami and Papi sometimes do some small walks close to home with me in the sling (some fresh air for me).

有朋自遠方來

媽媽有兩位舊大學同學來探訪我們，我們有一個愉快的晚上。希望兩位uncle在Amsterdam有一個愉快的旅程。
P.S. 謝謝各位的關心，媽媽已續漸康復，我又有美味又新鮮的奶了。

Mami is sick - we have a bad day !

Both of us cried.....

The story is that........

Mami is sick, she has sore throat and is coughing. Our midwife suggested us to go to a pharmacy to ask for medicine that is suitable for nursing mum. So we went out for that, Mami also asked several times the staff there if the medicines she recommended is really suitable for nursing mum. After that, we went for grocery shopping, on the way, Mami took one of the medicine, a lozenge, to sooth her sore throat.

When we arrived home, she had a look at the german details for two medicines and found out that both are NOT suitable for nursing mum!!! Oopss.... she already took one....... At that moment, I started to cry for milk.

In order not to risk passing me some medicine through breastmilk, Mami decided to give me a bottle.

Though Papi gives me a bottle daily, Mami hasn't given me a bottle ever since we left the hospital. I hate a bottle from you, I want milk from you!!!! I resisted the bottle, Mami tried and tried and I cried and cried.

At the end, Mami felt so guilty for being so careless in taking that one lozenge. She bursted into tears too.

We have a really bad day !!!!!

P.S. Mami has a sored throat since yesterday and Papi has a sored throat plus some headache. Hope their situation will not worsen, otherwise who is going to take care of me??

我的指甲剪 (my nail cutter)

這便是比我的手大很多的指甲剪。因我常脫下媽媽幫我載上的小手套，為免我用自己長得很快的指甲將自己的臉蛋抓成"花面猫"，媽媽只好戰戰驚驚地趁我在睡覺時幫我剪指甲。她現在已是嬰兒修甲高手。

這便是不戴手套而又沒有變"刀疤強"的原因。

Drinking through T-shirt (飲奶篇)

Mami is bad, she is teasing me for trying to drink through her T-shirt. Who knows, may be it will work one day.

A Night off for Mami

In my nursery, I have a lovely flower night lamp. It is for night time nursing and nappy changing. Mami loves it and hates it. Night time nursing is tough. But tonight, Papi will let her take a 'night' off and sleep for as long as she like !!! Papi will feed me with Mami's pre-expressed breast milk. Thank you Papi. Mami and I love you so :-*
