Alyssa had fever 2 weeks back and last week, we found her third teeth emerged from the top. It is quite funny as only one but not yet two from above.

Self-made toys
These are the self-made toys made by Mami. The old tissue box is stuffed with a Thai silk scarf and Alyssa can pull it out as often as she wants. The other three are rattles, the plastic box holds some EURO coins, the other plastic bottle has a cloth peg in it while the biggest bottle has red beans and spiral pasta in it. Alyssa likes them a lot :-)
Mami is thinking about what to make next.

Pick and eat
Picking Cheerios is a very good exercise for fine motor development. Finally, Alyssa could manage to put the little thing in her mouth 90% of the time.
strange sleeping posture
Tonight, after putting Alyssa down, she stood in her crib and cried for half a minute and then Mami realised that she quiet down. Mami wondered if she is really sleeping, thus, she checked her via the baby monitor. Here is the movie... She kept that posture for 30 minutes and then stirred and fell back to sleep by herself.

High Fever + Crusing + Sharpening teeth
Alyssa had 103.5 degree F fever when this movie clip was taken. It was funny that she seems not bothered by the fever. We still don't know what is wrong with her, doctor said perhaps it is virus infection as her fever is pretty mild in the morning and higher in the afternoon and in the evening. This is the fourth day that she still have on and off some fever.
Another strange thing is that 3 nights back, Alyssa woke up from 12pm-4:50am and was impossible to put her back to sleep and she seemed playful and excited.... Geez... what a strange sick baby.

New favourite sleeping posture
Jet Lag baby
When Alyssa was 7.5 months old, we flew from Germany to Hong Kong and back, she got no problem at all with jet lag. We thought that may be it is simply easier for baby to cope with jet lag, as anyway they sleep a lot during the day and night. Thinking back, Perhaps, it was because when we went HK, she was not sleeping well on the way and we arrived in the early morning in HK and we planned to see all the four grandparents in the first day, so there was no chance for any of us to sleep even after max. 3 hours of sleep on the plane. At the end, Alyssa, Mami and Papi all got no jetlag.
This time, we flew to California from Germany. Alyssa got some jet lag when she was in California, but that is not too bad, she woke up at around 5am and stayed up for 2 hours and then she will get her nap :-) and Papi and Mami could get back to sleep for an hour or two.
However, it is really very very tough this time when we flew from California to Germany (west to east). The time difference is 9 hours. We tried to put her to sleep at the usual time of 8pm, but after 2-4 hours of nap, she will be totally awake and cannot be put back to sleep. Our midnight schedule is as follows since last Saturday :
Sat. 12am-4am awake
Sun. 12am-3am awake (woke her up at 9am in the morning)
Mon. 10:30pm-1:00am awake (woke up at 9am in the morning)
It seemed improving until last night. Mami thought that let's only let her wake up for 2 hours or less and after she woke up at 10:15pm, she tried to put Alyssa to sleep at 12:15am, but it was so difficult and at the end she went back to sleep only at 4am..................................
Geez..... when will this return back to normal.

Climb up a big step
We have no stairs at home and we never know Alyssa can climb up a step.
We were at a friend's place and there was this step between the living room and the dining room. Alyssa could climb up it. This is interesting.
