Solo Peekaboo

Alyssa did the Peekaboo action and Mami provided the sound effect.

Baba Day

Today is the 'baba' day as Alyssa kept saying the 'ba' sound.

The following movie even have the 'baba' sound together in the tone as we say papa in Cantonese :D. She must be missing Papi a lot as she haven't seen him last night.

Alyssa the chatter box

release one hand and let people pass the gate

We have a gate separating the living room and the hallway. Alyssa stands there often as she can complain there when she is bored to play alone in the living room.

When Mami and Papi need to pass the gate, Alyssa knows that she need to release the right hand so Mami or Papi can open the gate and pass it.

Second time overcoming the fear of grass

This was the first time of this year that we mow the lawn (this was the first time Mami did it too, it was not so easy, and the mower gave out white smoke at the beginning, but fortunately the machine was not kaputt, we don't need a need one). The end result of the mowing is as follows.

After that, Mami put Alyssa down in the middle of the backyard. We still have a small piece of lawn in the front. We haven't done much in both though ;-P, just two pieces of grass 'fields'.

Look at how Alyssa overcoming her fear of grass the second time. Well done honey. This time we had no temptation of ice cream

Here is the video.

Petting zoo - part 3 (first taste of sand)

After tasting the first bite of ice cream, Alyssa was still hungry... as she was in the 'sand' playground, she tried her first taste of sand.

Look at her mouth in the photo above, it was sand but not chocolate. Mami heard once in Switzerland that if baby eat some soil or sand, it is indeed good for them as they can build up a better immune system by exposing to some germs in this way.... However, after letting her tasting twice, Papi and Mami decided that there was already enough germs and took Alyssa away from the sand.

Petting zoo - part 2 (first bite of ice cream)

First, we let Alyssa have her first bite of ice cream. Obviously she liked it a lot :-)

We found out that she is afraid of grass (indeed, grass is quite rough to baby's skin. No wonder they don't prefer it. Look at how she wanted to keep her arms and feet off the ground. Cute :D.

Mami used the ice cream as a bait.

At the end, Alyssa could not resist the temptation and got over her fear of grass and headed straight to the ice cream !!

Yummy !!!!

Petting zoo

What a wonderful day for going out to a park and especially to a petting zoo. Weather was just perfect and we had a great day. Spring is finally here in Düsseldorf !!!

Took a photo just outside our home with Mami.

Took another photo in the Volksgarten with Papi.

Mami showed Alyssa some wild little flowers.

What else.. Alyssa would definitely like to taste them. And for sure, Mami would not let her.

Alyssa was pretty happy on the way to the petting zoo. And she talked to herself in the stroller.

Finally, we arrived at the petting zoo. Let's talk a photo with those two 'greeting persons' :-) Alyssa... what happened with your leg ...

There were many farm animals in this petting zoo.. goats, sheeps, pig, rabbits, chickens, ducks and gooses. The nicest thing of this petting zoo is that it is free :-).

Hello, woolly sheep.

First bite of chocolate

Last Friday, Alyssa had her first bite of chocolate. Mami and Alyssa visited Neighbor S and Baby H, as it is almost Easter, S has a basket of chocolate at home. Mami showed Alyssa the cute little chicks chocolate and never imagined that she will know it is edible and then put it back to the basket on the coffee table. However, Mami forgot that Alyssa mouths all objects (both edible and non-edible). When Mami was not watching, Alyssa took the chocolate from the basket on the coffee table and even took her very first bite of the chocolate (without taking away the foil).

When Mami found that out, she immediately seized it back and bought it back home as a evidence of this 'crime' for showing to Papi. Alyssa enjoyed very much her first bite of chocolate and indeed was asking for more!! Honey, you are too sweet to eat sweet like chocolate (it has caffeine in it, no good for you!!!)

Long way to go until self-feeding with a spoon

A spoon is merely another piece of toy..... long long long way to go until self-feeding with a spoon.

Alyssa's album

Alyssa has her own album, it is water resistance and thus baby-proof. If you ever has a young baby, you will know what it means if you give them a piece of paper. This album has photos from Mami, Papi, of course, Alyssa, and also the grandparents and her two baby cousins (Cherie and Katie). Alyssa likes this album a lot and like to flip through it and has some baby talk with it.

Said the "E" sound

During dinner yesterday, Alyssa suddenly said "E" "E" and then Mami catched that and repeated what she said. She was so happy about it and then Mami and Alyssa laughed a lot simply for the new sound "E".

happily talking to the buckle

Usually after Alyssa finished her meal, she is very restless and bored for being bound to the high chair for at least half an hour, but as soon as Mami release her buckles, she is like a happy little bird again. See the above video.

Blowing (following Mami)

When Alyssa was 2-3 months old, she had the rotavirus vaccination (which is an oral vaccine). Our pediatrician tried to have her swallow the vaccine and blew in her face after dropping the vaccine in her month. He said that baby has a reflex to swallow things when they are blown in the face.

Mami and Papi used the same strategy when Alyssa had Bonchitis in December last year when they had to give her medicine. However, Mami tried to blow in her face again a month ago and realized that this reflex had disappeared. Instead, she found out that Alyssa was/is imitating her to blow (hm... with some free saliva to give away as well...).

Use High chair as walker

Alyssa was pushing the high chair around as if it is a walker.
