Finding Jacob

We took out three bars from the playpen and add some mattresses in front of it. Now Alyssa can climb up those mattresses and crawl into the playpen. It is indeed a baby gym :-))

Understand some words

Some of the things that Alyssa understands :-

Book -- when we say that, she will look to the book shelf (she wants us to read her books)
Teletubby song -- when we sing teletubby song, she will look to the TV
Jacob (our stuff cat Jacob) -- when Mami asks Alyssa where is Jacob, she will look at Jacob.
Give -- ask Alyssa to give things, depends on what is on her hand, she might give it to you if it is not something is desperately want to study or play with.

Feed herself with spoon

Mami usually let Alyssa hold an 'empty' spoon during the mealtime, but it was the first time she gave her some food in the spoon and let her feed herself. Fortunately, the congee was so thick that it didn't fall out of the spoon when it was up side down. Alyssa can feed herself with the spoon the very first time (though not scooping up the food from the bowl though).

Alyssa is a Egyptian King with some genes from the pyjamas kingdom.

Took off the socks

Mami, look !! Alyssa can take off the socks.

Happy First Mother's Day

Papi helped Alyssa to pick and buy the very first Mother's day cake for Mami. It is in a heart-shape. It is so sweet. Thanks Papi.

We started early this morning with lawn mowing and bush cutting as we had BBQ at the backyard today. We had a great day :-))

Alyssa also gave a sweet 'gift' to Mami. This morning, we called Po Po and said Happy Mother's day to her, during the Skype session (with video), Alyssa was so happy to hear Po Po's cheerful
voice, she clapped her hands for the first time !!!!! We tried all the ways to teach her to clap and finally on our first mother's day, she did it for Mami and Mami's Mami. Well done, great job, honey.

Eating whole banana

Mami saw at the swimming pool how another mum gave a whole banana to her baby and the baby could eat directly. Alyssa has never done that and has only had coarsely mashed banana (with fork) or small trunk of it for picking.

And this morning, we tried that out, it took Alyssa a while to figure out that she has to bite into the banana to eat it, Mami has never given her things bigger than half inch times half inch, so she never need to cut food with her incisors until TODAY.

The first few bites looked funny, only the bottom teeth were used. You can see from the photo below that there were two bites (each with two-teeth mark)













After some practices, Alyssa had a bigger bite using both top and bottom teeth and you can see how different the teeth mark is.

Give things to others

Last long weekend, Papi and Mami gave special training to Alyssa. They passed around object from each and taught Alyssa the words/concept of giving things to others.
