Get down the sofa

Alyssa can't climb up our sofa yet, but she has already learnt how to get down in a proper way.

Chair as walker

Mami tried to hold Alyssa's hand for her to practice walking, but she is reluctant to walk with merely the support from Mami's hand. What she need is something more solid and very stable, like the chair !

Still have a long way to go until she will walk independently.

Self Spoon Feed Step 1

Mami is starting to train Alyssa to spoon feed herself. Mami doesn't dare to put a bowl full of food in front of Alyssa, as she has the habit to pick the bowl up and turn it upside down. At the moment, Mami always scoop a spoon of food and pass the spoon to Alyssa. She managed it quite well and she is getting faster and faster with this action.

Let see when she seems to ready to go to the step 2, i.e. get her food with spoon and then pass it into her mouth.....

Crawl through 'tunnels'

We built a small tunnel with chairs and a blanket.




We bought recently another red tunnel (and the tent was bought earlier) and now Mami put these two together and created a big toy for Alyssa. Alyssa can find her friend Jacob in another way.

2 Naps to 1 Nap?

For quite some months (from 8th Month - 12th Month), Alyssa had a pretty stable nap schedule (shift a little bit sometimes), but it was always 2 naps during the day.

The time that she wake up can vary greatly though (ranging from 5am-7:xxam).

She nursed after waking up
She ate her breakfast around 8am
She started her 1st nap around 9:00-10:00 for 1.5 hours
She ate her lunch at 12:00noon
She started her 2nd nap around 3:00-4:00 for 1.5 hours
She ate her dinner at 6pm
She had her bath at 7:30pm
She drank her last bottle of milk at 7:45pm
We brushed her teeth at 7:55pm
She got to bed at 8pm.

But since two-three days, she has napped only once during the day and has slept 11.5 hours at night. Mami wonders if this is her next schedule or it is just some transitional phase.

Playing sand

We went out to the park to play.



Mami brought Alyssa out to play sand whenever the weather is good. She has already tried the taste of sand and stone.

Little Judo master

These days, Alyssa likes to use one hand to hold on to something and then another hand to hold an object while she stand up and squat down. This time, the little singing dog was the victim.

So much fun with our laundry bag :-). First clip was taken by mami when she was inside the inverted laundry bag.



This second clip showed how it was like when the first clip was taken. But Alyssa had enough of this already. Not very interested then.

Since Grandma loves to see Alyssa talking, Mami found some old ones (oops.. from 1 May already) and post it.

These days, other than being sick, we were testing out Papi and Mami's birthday gift to Alyssa (the new lens 50mm, 1:1.4). Still have to try out the best setting for taking nice baby photos.

First birthday

Yippee. 14 May was the first birthday of Alyssa's !!!! Well done, baby, Mami and Papi, you all graduated from the 1st year of growing up and baby caring. We have now not anymore a baby but a toddler !!!! Are you ready for the coming tantrums and disciplinings?

No matter what, it was a important day to celebrate !!!! Happy birthday to our dear Alyssa.

Silly game (crawl and chase)

Well again :-))

After the 4-day fever, Alyssa had red dots on her body and face, but no more fever. She is well again :-)))))))))))) Hurray !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

病了一星期

我們家成了疫區!

上星期日(九天前)晚上, Alyssa忽然晚上睡得很差 , 零時醒后後 , 至二時才成功讓她再睡著。第二天發現她患上傷風,第一次流鼻涕流得這樣誇張。因預先約了兒科醫生打一歲預防針,只好早上八時半準時到兒科,Dr. Engl 說沒問題可打針。

這一針後，Alyssa發了一天一夜燒,但這是預期的。她的大傷風一直沒好,而且還傳染了給爸媽。 一家人一起流鼻涕,喉嚨痛及咳嗽。

直到星期六晚(四天前),她又再發高燒,發了一天一夜後,又因退燒藥沒有起什麼作用,爸媽便在星期日帶Alyssa 去看急症,醫生開了抗生素給她。吃了兩天藥,高燒還未退，媽媽今早又帶她去看Dr. Engl。他開了ibuprofen (另一退燒藥)給她。不知是否這藥真有效或她已漸漸好轉,她的燒終於在四天後第一次退至低於38度。

子女生病,爸媽都很辛苦,尤其當自已都在病。 Alyssa在過去一星期都睡得很差 (包括午睡),尤其是昨晚,她八點開始睡,但十二點便醒來,爸媽輪流去哄她睡,但一放她回BB床,她便一直哭,媽媽在四點時抱着睡著了的她,但這時她的咳嗽聲又弄醒了Alyssa.。最後媽媽又要花十多分鐘carry and rock Alyssa to sleep.最後又因怕放她回床而弄醒她,只好抱當著她坐在椅上睡起來，醒來時已是五點，再放Alyssa回床,幸好她沒醒過來。

已經很久很久不用 (自從二月尾起) 這樣令她睡，希望這次生病不會打破她可以自已入睡的習慣。今晚還是要爸爸抱到入睡。希望今晚就算半夜醒來也不要像昨晚那麼辛苦。
